My novel The Bishop's Prison brings in a darkening atmosphere thematically connected to the dreaded prison, which is mirrored by those unfortunate souls interred within, and is further mirrored in the folklore of the dreaded Bishop's prison. Sometimes life itself can seem like a prison to those so condemned, but often it is for the broken man that he does walk into his very own prison and never see that the walls are made of smoke.
